History
The building was first documented around 1600.
Around 1700, it was owned by a woman engaged in the brewing of stone beer (Steinbier).
In 1735, the property belonged to an abbey administrator.
Architectural Description
The structure originally comprised two medieval houses, which were combined and structurally adapted in the 16th century.
Over the following centuries, the building underwent several alterations, the most recent major intervention taking place in 1967.
Exterior
Facade facing the Square
The facade facing the square is organised into four irregularly arranged window axes and is finished with a pronounced eaves cove.
The first-floor windows are fitted with plain moulded plaster surrounds, straight sill cornices, and pediments above broad lintel panels, dating from around 1900.
At ground-floor level, modern shopfront installations with marble cladding were introduced in 1967.
In the second axis from the left is a former basket-arched portal dating from around 1900.
